T-SHIRT DESIGN TEMPLATES
A template gives your artwork a dependable shape before it reaches a printer. Learn the common front, back and pocket layouts, then use the design library or AI studio to build artwork that fits the intended placement.

Open the AI studio, describe the design you want and shape the result with apparel-focused controls.
Choose the placement before finalizing the artwork. Each format needs a different balance of detail, type and negative space.
Use a centered vertical composition with the focal point high enough to sit naturally on the chest.
Allow more detail and pair the main back artwork with a small front mark when the concept needs two views.
Reduce the design to a simple icon, initials or compact badge that remains readable at a small size.
Always confirm exact requirements with your print provider. These principles reduce the most common production problems.
Prepare raster artwork at the final print dimensions and 300 DPI whenever the production method requires it.
Remove unintended background pixels and inspect edges against both light and dark colors.
View typography and fine details at their intended print size, not only while zoomed in on screen.
STEP-BY-STEP WORKFLOW
Choose full front, back, chest or another printer-supported position.
Ask the printer for the maximum area, preferred color mode and accepted file types.
Compose the design within the selected ratio and leave breathing room around important elements.
Check spelling, transparency, contrast, small details and the final physical size.
The correct size depends on the garment and printer. A common large front print is roughly 10 to 12 inches wide, but always use the provider's template.
For raster printing workflows, 300 DPI at the intended physical dimensions is a common target. Vector artwork can scale without losing edge quality.
Transparent PNG works well for detailed raster artwork. SVG is useful for clean vector shapes and typography when the printer accepts it.
